GAT

The General Achievement Test has been postponed for all Victorian students as a result of the extended COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne.

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority has confirmed the GAT, which was scheduled to take place on 9 June, has been postponed to a yet to be fixed date.

All students studying a 3/4 Victorian Certificate of Education subject sit the GAT. This means that VCE students will have next Wednesday off, in accordance with the pupil free day that has been planned. We thank you for your understanding and will keep you informed as we get further guidance about the GAT.

Dear Students, Parents and Carers;

I sincerely thank you all for your efforts  as we continue to engage in remote and flexible learning for another day.  I have had positive reports as we returned to an online routine this week that is unfortunately very familiar to us as teachers and students!

It is great news that we can return to face-to-face learning on Friday 4 June if there are no new outbreaks and we look forward to welcoming students back.

The return to school across all Year levels only applies to regional Victoria and it is important we protect this privilege by doing the right thing.

Please remind your children of the importance of frequent hand sanitising, good hygiene and if you are at all unwell, remain at home.

Now that we have some clarity going into next week, I also remind our school community that next Wednesday 9 June is a pupil-free day across our GSSC campuses. This does not apply if:

  • You are a student sitting the General Achievement Test (GAT)
  • You are a student with external VET or GOTAFE commitments on this day
  • You are a student with a school-based apprenticeship commitment

Finally, it is important we get back to normal schooling as quickly as possible. We expect our students to arrive on time this Friday, properly prepared and ready for their return to classroom study. And again, thank you to everyone for contributing to keep our community safe.
