The VCE program is a set of semester length units undertaken over a minimum period of two years. At Greater Shepparton Secondary College, our VCE program is tailored to our students and enables them to access the most opportunities through our wide range of subject offerings at Year 11 and 12.
This program is designed for students to meet their needs and pursue their goals within the rules laid down by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). In order for students to successfully complete their VCE, they must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 16 units over two years including:
- 3 units of English (including unit 3 and 4);
- 3 other unit 3/4 sequences (6 units).
The 16 units may include an unlimited number of units of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Completing the VCE can give you an ATAR score, offering a direct pathway to university.
The VCE can take students in many different directions after school and is a great choice for students who prefer learning in a classroom environment and know they might want to go to university right after school.
Below are listed the wide and varied range of subjects that are offered to students of GSSC in order to best support their interests, needs and goals.
