Our senior students have access to education and training pathways best suited to their needs and to equip them as lifelong learners.

These pathways include the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the VCE Vocational Major (VCE-VM) Certificate and Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs.

The VCE will normally be completed over a minimum of two years and our students enjoy a wide choice of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Health, Physical Education, Technology and the Arts. VCE students can pursue vocational, or VET studies, as part of their program.

VET subjects are an essential part of a VCE-VM program and provide Year 11 and 12 students with pathways to further training, apprenticeships and employment.

Greater Shepparton Secondary College has strong partnerships with both La Trobe University and GOTAFE, so students have greater access to senior pathways and courses. They can also access a seamless transition to tertiary education, without leaving Shepparton, if that is their choice.

The College has extensive resources to help families with subject selection, careers counselling and post-school options.

In addition, senior secondary students are provided with interactive online resources targeted to help them study and prepare for important examinations.

For more information about subjects please refer to: Senior Pathway Guide 2025

You can also view our 2024 Senior Secondary Handbook which provides further information on Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE/VCE VM/VPC/VET) studies and our commitment to be consistent in our practices, expectations and assessment guidelines. It also contains some information based on GSSC local policies and procedures.
