Kazadi 'Zadi' Kadima is an enthusiastic young runner who is always looking to go one better every time he runs.

After placing first at both the Goulburn MUrray District School Sport Victoria and Hume Region Cross Country events earlier this year for the 3km run, Zadi competed at the AV XCR All Schools Championships where he placed 10th in a time of 12:51 and qualified for the Junior Victorian Cross Country Team.

The GSSC Year 8 student showcased his talent on the national stage in Canberra, competing in the U/15 boys category and up against a tough field of athletes, Zadi came 25th in the 4km run in a time of 13:47. That's an amazing effort at a national event!

Soon after his success in Canberra, Zadi turned his attentions to the athletics track, competing in the 400m, 800m and 1500m at the Hume Region Track & Field Championships. He brought home gold in both the 800m and 1500m, qualifying for the School Sport Victoria Championships in Melbourne.

We are proud to announce that Zadi is now the 2024 SSV State Champion in both the 800m (2:08.55) and 1500m (4:20.87) events for the 14 Years Boys Age Group after winning both events at Albert Park in October.

Zadi's success doesn't stop there. Early last month, he competed at the Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships under the GSSC banner where he took home gold in the 3000m and silver in the 1500m event.

Congratulations on a fantastic season, Zadi! We can't wait to see what 2024 brings.
