On behalf of the Victorian Women’s Trust, the Rural Women Online Digital Intensive Program is being hosted in Shepparton next week, designed by women for women.
Free Digital Skills Learning for All Women
When: Monday, August 5 - Friday, August 9, 2024
Where: The McIntosh Centre, Shepparton
This free program includes practical sessions, one-on-one tech support at the digital cafe, and a keynote closing event on Thursday evening. It aims to enhance digital literacy for women, providing skills and confidence to navigate the digital world. Check out the program here.
On Thursday 8 August, Prof Julian Thomas, a Distinguished Professor at RMIT University and Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society, will provide a keynote address on digital inclusion as a human right.

Multicultural and First Nations sessions
On Wednesday, 7 August a number of sessions will be hosted specifically for multicultural and First Nations families. These include:
- 10.00am to 11.00am - Connectivity 101: Everything you need to know about connecting to the internet
- 11.30am to 1.00pm - eSafety: Working safely on your phone or computers
- 1.30pm to 3.00pm - Preparing records and pictures on your mobile: Filling documents and finding personal info online
- 3.30pm to 5.00pm - Technology in the family: helping women to keep their teens safe online
- 5.15pm to 6.45pm - (First Nations Session) Technology in the family: helping women to keep their kids safe online
Drop-in Sessions
Understanding that women are busy and may need immediate assistance, Rural Women Online are offering one-on-one, free tech support. No bookings are required—just drop in with your phone, tablet, laptop, or any device. Open Monday, August 5 - Friday, August 9.
Feel free to stop by, bring a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague, or arrange a group to attend. Rural Women Online will provide bottomless tea and coffee, as well as warm soup throughout the day. Children are welcome.
