It is wonderful to be welcoming all our students back on-site this week.  Now we are back on-site, it is really important to let us know when your student is away.  You can do this by: 

  1. Calling your student's campus and leaving a message on the Attendance Line  
  2. Enter an Attendance Note on Compass  

We understand that sometimes getting your child to school may be difficult and the school is very happy to work with you to improve your child’s attendance. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the school and ask to speak to your student’s Neighbourhood Leader.  Our Neighbourhood Leaders will be able to provide support, including connecting you with other relevant staff and supports.

Our school has been advised of a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our school community but on the advice of the Department of Health (DH) and the Department of Education Training (DET) we are not required to close.  

DET has advised us no action is required at this stage because the person who is confirmed to have COVID-19  did not come onto the McGuire Campus of GSSC while they were infectious. DH has approved this course of action.

   

We are further advised that no contact is known to have taken place at our Mooroopna or Wanganui Campuses.

We write to reassure you that all Department of Health protocols are being followed with respect to this matter.

We wish to reassure parents, carers and students that GSSC continues to follow clear and timely advice from our health authorities. We will continue to keep you informed as further health information comes to hand.
