Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Guardians,

I sincerely thank you all for the swift, courteous and orderly way our school community responded to yesterday’s message seeking your assistance to collect your child/children from school. The fact our campuses were quickly emptied and our families followed health orders to go home, and remain at home, is a credit to you all.

Please be aware this “Stop and Stay” advice is still current so I thank you for staying home and keeping the wider community safe.

Health authorities are advising that we, as a school community, are to remain in quarantine until further notice. Please be advised that our staff members and students are deemed primary close contacts (Tier 1) and therefore their family members are classed as secondary contacts.

Goulburn Valley Health have prioritised COVID-19 testing for the following year levels: Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11 students, teachers and their households. They should get tested as soon as practicable.

Households of other year levels are advised to remain at home pending further advice.

Updated advice is available on the Facebook Page of Matt Sharpe, Chief Executive Officer, Goulburn Valley Health: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100068630830852

For general advice, updates and information you can also go to the Department of Health website at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus and the Goulburn Valley Health website at http://www.gvhealth.org.au/covid-19/

There will be an online briefing by the Department of Health for all members of our school community commencing at 6pm this evening. Below, please find the digital link to this Teams meeting. There is also a telephone link should this be your best option.

The Victorian Government has set a statewide lockdown from 1pm today to 11:59pm on 2 September. This will require us to commence remote learning for all students from Tuesday, 24 August. Please continue to check Compass for regular updates.

Again. I thank you for your assistance as we join the effort to keep our community safe.

Sincerely,

Barbara O’Brien
